Accessibility

Designed for everyone

We want everyone to feel welcome at Hippo Haven, on our website, in our app, and in person.

Accessibility isn't a box we tick. It's part of building something calm and considered for every family.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard across our website, and to keep improving as we grow. Accessibility is considered as we build, not bolted on afterwards.

What we've done

  • Clear, well-structured pages that work with screen readers
  • Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus outline
  • A calm colour palette checked for readable contrast
  • Text that stays legible when you zoom or increase font size
  • Reduced-motion support, so animations respect your device settings
  • A responsive layout that adapts to any screen

In person

Because every Hippo Haven Visit is by appointment and built around one family, we can adapt to what you need. If you have any accessibility requirements for your visit, tell us when you book and we'll make sure everything is ready. You're always welcome to bring someone with you.

Where we're still improving

We're a new business and we're always working to do better. Some things may not yet be perfect, and occasionally third-party content may fall short of our standards. If something doesn't work for you, we want to know.

Need something in a different format?

If you need information from this site in another format, or you're having trouble using the site or booking a Hippo Haven Visit, please email hello@hippohaven.co.uk and we'll be glad to help.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Hippo Haven. It helps us make the experience better for everyone.
